Have you ever thought about baking potatoes off grid in a wood stove? No, then join us for a new adventure!
An off grid homestead is assuredly going to have a wood stove working to keep the home warm during the winter months. And while that stove may do a wonderful job of keeping the family comfortable, that doesn’t have to be its only job.
All that cheap wood heat can be harnessed and used to take on cooking and baking duties for the family. You will constantly see pots on top of our wood stove. We are heating water, warming a hardy soup, or maybe making nice afternoon tea. But we may also be baking something inside.
We have used our stove as an oven to bake chicken, bread and today, we are going to bake potatoes. Our camp style dutch oven is great for this purpose.
Wood Stove Baking Tips
