The American Homestead smoked salts are crafted using a 72+ hour cold smoking process from maple wood harvested right here on our land. Included is a reusable glass hermetic jar that is air-tight and perfect for keeping your salt. Transfer to a shaker that can be used anytime at the dinner table. This is probably the most popular item we offer on the homestead and they sell out on a regular basis. Whenever we attend conferences or festivals, this is the first time to be gone. All you have to do is take a whiff and you can begin to fantasize and imagine the culinary possibilities in your home kitchen.
All of the wood used in the smoking process is harvested right here on An American Homestead. All of it is non-treated Persimmon, Plum, Maple, Hickory and Sassafrass wood hand selected and harvested from our forest.
We start with 100% pure salt (sodium chloride) labeled “high purity” with no additives, caking agents, iodine, or other unnatural chemicals. So that way you know that the only thing that hits your taste buds is pure salt and great smoke flavor. We are now using fine grade sized salt for all smoked salt we produce.
