Thanks for sharing. I’ll be praying for eggs and younger chickens and lots of wonderful family chicken soup dinners on that gorgeous table! I love chicken but can’t afford them too often. There’s no way I’ll buy or eat a factory bird. The littlest organic grass fed are about $12 . If I ever get a chance, I will go off grid and remember everything you’re teaching me.
Please do a more detailed meal worm video. Where can I get meal worms and learn more. I’ll try searching on line.
I’m keeping files I labeled for future reference in a magazine holder.
I’m hoping to sell my home and take the plunge. I’m 64 and raising 14 year old twins. I believe anything is possible. I’m listening for the small voice to guide me.
Please pray for us to find good Earth with good water, trees, good price and all we need.
Thanks everyone!
Hello Zach. I am needing info on your solar setup.. I remember you said you used Grape Solar for your greenhouse and office, 100 watt panels. But what size panel and brand did you go with for the chicken coop? Was it also grape? I didnt know if a 100 watt panel would be overkill for just a 1 battery setup. It looks as if you have a 30 amp charge controller, i found that same controller for $22 shipped. Really wanting to get your advice on the solar panel. Thanks for your time.
Tracy, Besides the controller you will need a 250 or 300 watt 12 volt inverter. I went with a 12 volt, 40 watt panel from Amazon. The 40 watt would be fine if it got more sun on the panel. If it was to do over I would have gotten a 60 watt panel.
Hey Tim, I was wanting to not use an inverter at all, and just Run it as a 12 volt system, and have a few 12 volt bulbs that had LED in them. Also i have a digital timer that runs off of 12 volt… Do Your think this will be ok? Or is there an actual advantage to stepping it up to 110v through an inverter? Thanks Tim! Also any special Brand on the Solar Panel?
The 12 volt system you suggest should work fine. The control I have allows for a 12 volt output. I am using an ALEKO 40 watt panel, but any panel should work.
