The meat packers have been put on notice that meat growers can now butcher their own products and sell them direct to consumers. But will this last the next administration?

We have and do process our own lambs, deer, chickens and turkeys here on our homestead. A possible way around selling the meat is bartering, no cash transaction.
I just bought a strip loin USDA CHOICE @14.89 a lb. I got 15 steaks all at least inch to inch and half and got 3 lbs trim for ground beef
I like my beef packed like they did it in broke back mountain.
My husband knows how to process a cow since he worked at a small town meat locker years ago. They took cows from local farmers and processed the entire thing. Unfortunately most of these small town meat lockers have closed down. Yes, it’s a lot of hard work.
Joke, have to feed 350 million people. Takes more than a few farms to do it.
And Biden Administration had a program in place to start this process, Trump killed it.
Woke…lmao
Not for homesteaders but for the NPCs yes
How about leave people to make their OWN DECISIONS AND REAL CHOICE OF ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING

I cant understand why our country is so screwed up that we can’t just go to the grocery store and buy clean meat like we have for my ENTIRE life. Bandaids are great, but not if you need stitches. Everyone is and should be allowed to process their own meat, happens around here all the time but I hope any processing facility selling to the general public has at least been inspected. 90% of folks will do it right & clean. The other 10% will kill people trying to make a quick buck. That’s why we have USDA inspections in the first place. A tainted food supply will destabilize everything very quickly.
I buy all my beef local nearby me in about a 15 mile radius; I would not recommend buying grocery store beef if you can help it. FOOD EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION (JOEL SALATIN)…! If they want to make a pie or beef pie, they should be able to sell it to their neighbor.
I fully agree with farmers processing meat and reducing the big four processors limited market
I seen a dude the other day ask if one could process his own beef? I said yes so so long as you have the things necessary for doing so. Steers are a lot bigger than a deer, but it’s the same process. They did it in the fall for a reason….. So keep that in mind as well.
USDA is there for a reason. That’s it that’s all. Stay healthy out there.
His shirt applies to HIM..
what a moron
Sorry about your husband dying from food poisoning, but…but…but we owned the libs !!!!!
Buying meat and raw milk straight from the farmer would be my choice. Know your farmer or be the farmer. Lets go!
People that live paycheck to paycheck can’t afford to “INVEST” in food for the future or buy bulk. Bone headed, arrogant pricks talk smack about people theyve never met. Ive bought beef in the past, both on the hoof or sides. I also spent a lifetime butchering my own wild game. I do agree that you get the best quality of beef, buying it direct. But a good many of us can barely pay bills and buy food for now. Buying in bulk is not in the cards.
