My life goal? To have enough land to pee in my yard without having the cops called on me.
If you complain about getting up and going to work you’ll never make a homesteader
Nope, been homesteading to various degrees all my life. Finally 2018 took the plunge to retired early in Indiana and built a cabin on the Cumberland Plateau TN. This is where I’ll die. One of my grown daughters was though, she loved the idea of raising chickens and growing food until she got stung by a bee…lol.
I live out in BFE desert, 30 0r 60 miles to any town, Ive seen so many people come and go.
they make a trip to the store 2-3 times a day? WTF…… go out driving around after a hard rain, tear up the roads and get stuck.
then wonder why no one helps them get un stuck.. You have to be one tough SOB to live out here.
your on your own, no one is coming to help you,,, there only coming because you have something they need.
Just got a few acres and am learning to homestead. Being faithful to YAHs call is an adventure.
I was inspired to homestead because of you, Doug and Stacy and others. 3 years now on the homestead and would not trade it in for nothing. It’s so peaceful. It’s work, sure it is but after 27 years working for the military this is a fresh breath of air.
I for one, am thrilled that the quitters are coming in bulk. That means that property costs will come down, because their ambition is to get back on grid in every way. Cheap land equals more opportunities for this vet tech married to a teacher.
lol. We live on a Homestead and we have plenty of the persimmons type that you are picking up off the ground. We had problems with deer eating all the persimmons that were hanging from the trees low to the ground so we decided to pick them before they fell… big mistake. It’s like eating the ultimate cotton ball horrible. Super bitter lol
