Just took a cow in to the butcher, we also have meat chicks, our turkey hens are raising poults. and we have a goat that will become meat for us and our dog and cat. With the severe drought in a majority of MT ranchers have been selling down their herds, because of hay failure, and now with lack of affordable fertilizer, corn and grains are struggling, plus lack of water. We are blessed to have our small acreage and raise our own protein and produce. Our journey started 35+ yrs ago and are happy to share we are still learning new (old skills) and we are always working to make things work better. As the old saying goes, in our mid 60’s we’re learning to work smarter not harder.
While shopping at Costco today I saw 2 really small beef roasts for $74.99. And I do agree on beef helping with autoimmune because I was listening to an older video from Mellissa K Norris talking about beef liver supplements and I started taking them. I have seen amazing results in my healing since starting them a couple of months ago.
Alpha Gal is attached to a protein in milk so the meat people cannot eat are mammals that nurse their young. People with it should be able to eat poultry and seafood.
We make our own beef jerky. We have a Bucees a half hour away but the ingredients are terrible in their foods. I will eat only their brisket or turkey.
We get a half cow at a time from a place near us. The price went way up this year. I can’t even imagine how much it will cost next year.
I have told my roommate (73yr old man) over and over that statins will not save his life. They lower the numbers but the body needs cholesterol to function. People need to be more concerned about triglycerides. I stopped taking it 3yrs ago. I feel much better now. Statins caused arthritis, brain fog and stomach issues. I’m 66yrs old and don’t have any pain or forgetfulness. I eat mostly meat.
