Lots of surprises to show off in this summer’s garden walk. Most things are doing great so far with just a few exceptions.

Thank you for all the good info. It’s helping me and my family and friends
Been really missing the garden and homestead project vids. This is so cool!
Wow thanks
We had a bad problem with deer. We put up 6ft T posts along the edge of the garden, then 3 ft out from that we use the 4ft fiberglass step in posts. On the T posts we run a hot wire at 18″, 36″, and 54″ Then on the small posts we run a hot wire at 36″ all hooked to a solar fence charger. This creates a 3-dimensional obstacle they can negotiate. Its worked like a charm for the last 4 yaers.
Cilantro is a very good bug deterrent, I have been using it for years. I plant it around the perimeter of every Garden, every two to three weeks. This year I added basil, Nasturtium and French marigold. So far so good!
Don’t cut those tomato plants down. Let them do whatever they’re going to do until you absolutely HAVE to cut them down.
Make sure you don’t just use straight milk on a garden with no shade. Either put down landscape fabric like Zach did, put up a shade cloth or plant so densely the sun won’t spoil the milk before it soaks in. You can also dilute the milk with water and/or refrain from pulling the weeds that don’t grow very tall.
I think your chick pea problem is a lack of pruning.
The cilantro and the dill will grow just fine in the heat of the summer if you keep them in a place that only gets 3-4 hours of direct sunlight. I like to use a couple of buildings to plant them between in order to regulate the amount of direct sunlight.
Finally got to see those spinning things for scaring dear you talk about. Where did you get them?
An alternative to cilantro sounds great because cilantro taste like soap.
The squash bugs can’t smell what they’re after because something they don’t want smells more pungent right next to it.
I like to take the lowest angle branch of my fig trees and place a rock on them for 2 years. It does exactly what you are doing with much less effort.
When you grow a garden you find out everything wants to eat what you grow.
Your fig leaves do not look like the ones we have growing in my area. Another way to propagate figs is by burying the stems in sand, they will take root.
Very nice garden
Why are you washing your mouth out with soap?
Never heard of papal. Thanks. In California so my cilantro season is only indoors now. I’ll try that. I give my sunflower leaves and flowers and cucumbers to my chickens. They love them.
Nice looking garden thanks for the tour.❤❤❤
