Hi zack
Yo Zak, I’ve got an Anker SOLIX F3800 + PS400 Solar Panels and love it!
Zac! Sounds like a pretty great unit. If your solar panels are 48v, can the unit input or covert the 48v ?
I’m getting ready to buy a solar generator and I’ve been bewildered about which brand was the best. I will check out Oupes based on your recommendation.
Can I use solar panels without a charge controller?
When you meet spirko just say solar generator. I dare you.
Issues with the oupes 2400 I run a deep freeze off the unit, it will run consistently if the day is sunny about 6-12 hours on the off days unless its pure clouds, the unit is not designed to run anything off the unit while charging which doesn’t make sense like if its at 50% and charging it isnt designed to run a chord off it while plugged into solar panels it often shows incorrect charge percentage when this happens, the chords on the solar panels they sell are frail and the panels are not meant to be outside in the weather according to them the unit is also not designed to be outside in the weather so it needs to be in a shed or somewhere out of the rain, other than that it does work ,but it definitely screams mass produced china product to me, it is plastic. It does work though for running a deep freeze 80% of the time.
I might bite the bullet to get this, if for nothing else than it has the oomph to kick on the well pump if the power goes out so I have water…
Good Evening ! I Pre ordered this the 1st day I could. TAKE CARE..
Another big plus with these kinds of units is they are quiet. You may not want to draw attention to yourself with a noisy gas generator in a grid down scenario.
Shalom,
Trying to homestead, no power yet, trying to build, sure would be nice.
Be well and be Blessed!
Nope ifn it wont run my 220v well pump it not for me !
I like looking into all kinds of alterntive elecrtric.
does this have an automatoc cutoff? i was trying tonrun a small fridge off a Bluetti, and whenever the fridge would get to temp, it stops drawing power. After a few minutes, the Bluetti’s automatic cutoff would kick in. When the fridge needed to draw power again, the Bluetti would be turned off, and wouldnt supply power.
We have been building in resiliency into our tiny homestead for a few years now (extra propane tanks, wood burning heat and cooking, manual appliances like mills and stuffs). Our next big project is my apothecary. I have a 12×24 shed that we are converting to a dedicated work space for my creations (soaps, cleaners, candles, medicine, teas, etc.) It’s hot in the swamp, so I’m looking for an air conditioned space to improve the longevity of my products. Also, it would be great to have a cool place to work and study as long as possible. I went straight to Oupes based on your reviews and I have an idea now of what I need. Thank you for doing these!
