  1. I was given this exact assignment in history class in high school! Many hours in the library, but it was good for me.

  2. We had to do the same in high school with that song. We listened to that song SOOOOO much I cannot stand hearing it 30+ years later. It was a great learning experience but completely ruined the song

  3. We didn’t start the fire, excellent song with so much to say. What a great topic to teach.
I agree, if everyone went to electric vs fossil fuels, it will limit if not eliminate travel for the masses.

  4. Fantastic assignment! That’s one of my favorite songs from my high school years. Your video has prompted me to take a look at it with fresh eyes.

  5. I love that assignment idea! I’m new to homeschooling, and I have a first grader. We have started out with a few episodes of the Tuttle Twins for now. I’m looking into a few other age-appropriate history lesson ideas.

  6. I love that song. It is sure eye opening when you start digging. The one little phrase that has me baffled is that England got a new queen. Hmm? I wonder what all that is about.

  7. I have a vague recollection of electric cars maybe in the ’80s that had some charging system that worked when braking. I also saw an old mail carrier that had solar panels on the roof. Seems we should be able to make these cars to charge themselves. Must not be enough money in something like that. I’m no engineer, so I don’t know the details of how that would work, but it ought to.

  8. Im listening to the audiobook Messilat Yesharim : The Path of the Just by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Lezatto. Its like Charlotte Mason’s Volumne “Ourselves” but from a Jewish/Old Testament (probably mishnah and Talmud as well) point of view. Im really enjoying it and am contemplating having our boys read/listen to it when they are older. Its about character development and overcoming the evil inclination. We are a christian/TO family who believe in Jesus and the whole word of God. We know the Christian viewpoint but im thinking that understanding the Jewish viewpoint/world may be an important thing as well.

  9. I’m trying to learn the different names that certain chemicals and additives can be çalled according to the FDA and put it in our foods.

I live in town and can’t grow all my food. So I must rely on the grocery stores.

I’m trying to eat a Biblical diet. And it makes me sick that so many things are allowed here in America, but isn’t allowed overseas.
