We’ve owned our home for 34 yrs… and never “needed” flood insurance, even though we are on a river, We sit high enough…. But after 25yrs our area had a 1000 yr flood, and now we are required to have $5000 a year flood insurance. (If you have a mortgage that is.) after paying it for 6yrs we now said no more, so God help us if there’s another 1000 yr flood, but just like in the mountains of NC, I’m sure they are going to “need” flood insurance now, which is just ridiculous… just a way for them all to make money off of us.
I’m in Michigan City which is in Laporte county Indiana up on the lake. We’re absolutely on that map of 15 minute cities. Actions will be taken to defend our land, our families, our rights and lives. This video isn’t just to close to home, it is our home.
Get your local representatives involved. Unless you live in a blue state, but get them involved to where the state is passing laws that affect local government to prevent them from doing this. Times have changed. We are on the upside when it comes to conservatism you just saw the election. Don’t sit on your tail or it’ll be too late.
I live in upstate New York and have seen farmers going out of business for decades. Then zoning people move in and start telling people what to do because they say so. Many counties, towns, and communities have passed RIGHT TO FARM LAWS, to protect the farmers, farms, and farmland. Here is a link for right to farm laws. https://agriculture.ny.gov/land-and-water/farmland-protection . The banks like development, they make more money with more mortgages and loans. Most farmland is all paid for, family generations owns it.
Indiana look into this and stand your ground. Realize that once the government gives people, urbanites, legal permission to bully others, farmers, they will never back off.
