I’ve been a vegetarian for about 25 years now. I’ve seen how things are going and I’ve decided I NEED to be able to eat meat. It has been actually really tough, started with chicken broth, then cooking with beef tallow, over months I’m finally able to eat some meat without being sick!! I realize soon we’ll be eating whatever we can get! (I do have a small homestead with ducks, chickens and a large garden).
Spotted lanternfly is now present in Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and West Virginia. Its threat continues to reach further west and grow more intensely in existing areas.
My wife and I eat vegan at the house. Not because we believe in the power of being vegan, but because we believe in the power of not doubling our grocery bill for a few pounds of meat. By vegan I don’t mean we buy that processed “plant based protein” crap. Actual vegetables. I have more confidence in sourcing unmolested vegetables than I do meat in terms of not depositing my wallet in the incinerator. Also, I’m hearing that people are finding chicken at walmart that have bruises on them, for example. Maybe I’m overreacting, but a bruise is essentially damaged blood vessels. Life is in the blood, etc. Until my wife and I get our homestead property and chickens and quail like my grandfather did, I’d prefer not eat crap quality meat until then. However I’ll drop some dollars for some good quality meat once in awhile.
I could never live in the cities for the reason of being reliant on someone else for food and other things. The big city people would be the most dangerous. That is common sense thinking. We will not starve, they will. To bad the government has forced many to the city. On purpose of coarse. Forcing to go to collage to be successful. Propaganda to it’s fullest. A simple life is a life worth living.

So many lifestyles aren’t sustainable. Having my own land is my goal. It seems out of reach as a single mom so we shall see.
