What are the most used off grid kitchen appliances that we love on the homestead? The kitchen on An American Homestead functions a bit differently than your average modern kitchen.
Let’s be honest shall we? Most nice homes have large kitchens stacked to the brim with the latest electric appliances and gadgets but rarely get used to prepare food from scratch. Most American eat a majority of their meals out at restaurants.
Here on this homestead, we love home cooking and Jaimie gets a lot of use out of our appliances and tools of the trade.
Our top 5 most used off grid kitchen appliances:
- Coffee Cone
- Propane Stove
- Cast Iron Skillet
- Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven
- All American Pressure Canner
Jaimie’s Top 3 Electic Solar Powered Gadgets
- Whisper Mill
- The Magic Bullet
- Kitchen Aid Immersion Blender
The grain mill helps us in making flour for numerous cooking and baking projects. The Magic Bullet is loved by all during the heat of the summer for making fruit smoothies! And the immersion blender is wonderful for making heart warming soups in the cold winter months.
Not every one wants to live off grid but these items help make our little homestead kitchen produce amazing home cooked meals.

Thanks admin for sharing this information
I had not thought about using an immersion blender for creamy soups, and I always have the hardest time incorporating the cream cheese in my soups. Thanks for the great idea. I will have to try it!
These are some of the amazing ideas for using off-grid kitchen appliances.
Try a hot logic mini. Very low electric usage about 45 watts for the 110 version. Off grid I would get 12v and that one is about 30 watts. Check it out.
Very helpful content for using off-grid kitchen appliances
We have been living completely off grid for some years now. Instead of a food processor I use a KitchenKing Pro. Lots of handy attachments for whipping, spinning lettuce, chopping, julienne slicing, plain slicing, egg separating. I’ve had mine for 13 years and it doesn’t take up a ton of space. Also a Whirly POP for the best popcorn!
